First Friday in May features Pixel Grip
// Darkwave beats out of Chicago
& DJ modest
Including an art installation by Tiffany Pierce & Tim Faris
Musical guests :
Rita Lukea and Jonathan Freund, a duo self described as "Disco Delinquents”, have been crafting infectious synth-pop jams since 2014. The two met as two art geek misfits proudly sporting Crystal Castles and Depeche Mode t-shirts while the rest of the student body were blaring modern country music out of their raised pickup trucks, often adorned with truck nutz.
DJ modest is set to spin before and after Pixel Grip

My work invesitgates the human condition, often breaking apart aspects of social constructs. Identity and gender are recurrent themes I explore; I'm interested in how they work independently and concurrently, as well as their impact on human development. These themes are often addressed through a feminine perspective, questioning what it means to identify and grow up as a female in Western society.

The portraits I have brought to Pioneer offer a glimpse into my thoughts and experiences from the last 5 or so years. In them you might find happiness, inquisitiveness, the urge to bend and twist. No matter your angle, I welcome you to connect with me and share in the love and joy that togetherness brings.
My name is Tim Faris. I am a first year MFA candidate at the Herron School of Art and Design, studying in the Photography and Intermedia program under Stefan Petranek.
